Taking action: DAOs get to work after Roe vs Wade decision

Structures within web3 like DAOs enable people to organize, mobilize, and deploy capital to matters they care about. Quickly after Roe vs Wade was overturned, ChoiceDAO came together, with the goal of "coordinating community and capital for reproductive access." They plan to raise $1M in 26 days and ultimately will give donors governance over where their funds will be donated. Of course, this cannot be limited to simply a crypto-focused solution, and this thread captures how best to channel the solidarity within web3 around the Roe vs Wade decision.

Learning more: The World Economic Forum writes about DAOs Beyond the Hype

The World Economic Forum recently released a white paper about DAOs. In it, they outline a brief history, strengths and weaknesses of DAOs, practical insights into starting and managing DAOs with best practices, and a break down of the types of DAOs. The report acknowledges that DAOs are ultimately still in their development so their full potential remains to be seen. It's a great primer for anyone looking to get a solid base for understanding DAOs, and promising that WEF is looking into these structures as an organizational form.

Something to stay positive: Words of wisdom from Collision Conferences Opening Night

We'll be honest- we know that things have been tough (in the crypto world and evidently in the normal world,) so we wanted to share a moment from last week that stuck out to us. Last week at Collision in Toronto many notable speakers took the stage, including CEO of Dapper Labs Roham Gharegozlou, but what we wanted to share were the remarks from MaRS CEO Yung Wu and author Margaret Atwood that stuck with us especially in this time:

Yung Wu: "If you are in the business of creating something from nothing, you better be an optimist. This is a time for small groups of committed people to do special things."

Margaret Atwood: "I’m really old and I can remember when it’s been worse."
